Your child’s Reading Diary needs to be with them at home and at school, so they can write in it wherever they are.
Their reading book can be a book from home or school, if they start a book which they later find uninteresting or perhaps too difficult, please change it, but they should put the reason for the change in their diary.
There are 2 sides to the Reading Diary; a Guided Reading side, which will be mainly used in school and a personal reading side, which will be used both at home and school.
We like the book to be covered, as it will get a lot of use. Children can also personalise their own diary.
