Well, the deadline has now passed, the final figures are in and I can reveal that the children of Naburn have COMPLETED the challenge and have arrived in Leucate!!! Very, very well done to every child who has taken part. It was very close in the end but final mileage has come in at 1,025 miles (the target was 986). This just proves that every little helps and all those miles have really made a big difference.
We are in the process now of working out which child has individually walked the furthest and a small French-themed prize will be presented to them.
Could we please ask that all sponsor money is brought into school as soon as possible – on the Monday after half term at the very latest. Cash or cheques (payable to Naburn School PTA) please. If your child has not walked or been able to raise any sponsor money then there will be a collection bucket on the school gate every morning and pick up if you would like to make a donation that way. All money raised is going to school and a very worthy local child bereavement charity – Bereaved Children Support York. There is also a small prize for the child who raises the most sponsor money.
Again, many thanks indeed for everyone’s support with this fundraiser. We hope the children have enjoyed the walks that they have done with their families.
