Valentine Disco – Message from the PTA

Glow sticks were snapped into action, as the children cut some (love heart) shapes at the Valentines Disco. Our amazing DJ played all their requests and we were treated to not one, not two but three amazing performances from the one and only Jasper, a true star in the making!

Huge thank yous from the Friends of Naburn to everyone that came and enjoyed the event, as well as to all the amazing parents that helped. We couldn’t do these fab things without you guys! Look out for news about more exciting events for this term, coming soon!Friends of Naburn CE Primary School

Message from the PTA (Friends of Naburn CE Primary School)

The Friends of Naburn Primary School have some exciting things coming up over the next few weeks, the details of which we can now share with you.

Love is in the air…or at least it will be in the village hall on Friday, 10th February, at our Valentine’s disco (18:00 – 19:00). This is a fantastic way to celebrate the end of half term and for the children to show love for themselves, as well as each other. Children are encouraged to come dressed in the clothes they love and will be asked nearer the time to tell us the songs they love, which will be played by our DJ at the disco. Tickets are £3, or 2 siblings for £5, payable on the door. There will be sweet treats on sale, at a small price. All children must be accompanied by one supervising adult. We hope to see as many of you there as possible. Posters have gone home advertising the Valentine’s Disco. Please return the love hearts with your child’s favourite song written on the back, so it can be played at the disco.

Everyone loves a raffle, especially when the prize is a luxurious hamper, packed full of delicious treats from Selfridges. This is just what we have on offer this term and could be yours if you purchase the winning raffle ticket. The hamper includes, hot chocolate, orange & cinnamon spiced tea, gingerbread cookies, a festive biscuit selection, cinnamon & chocolate almonds, chocolate orange & salted caramel spread, the biggest bar of milk chocolate, rose and lemon Turkish delight, chocolate orange panettone and a cherry and sherry pudding, plus a few other scrumptious surprises. This is packaged in a gorgeous, Selfridges wicker basket, with signature, yellow buckles, which could be re-used time and time again to picnic in style. If you would like to be in with a chance of winning this amazing hamper (sold in Selfridges for £250) please pop into the school office to purchase some raffle tickets. Tickets are £1 each and the draw will take place at 3.15 on Wednesday 8th February, in the school playground.

Just a reminder that letters have gone out asking for support with the St Crux event. This is a fantastic fundraiser for the school, but is only possible if our community comes together and everyone gets involved in some way. We’ll be asking for donations of good quality, pre-loved items, as well as homebaked goods and groceries. It’s a perfect opportunity to alleviate yourself of any unwanted Christmas presents. Please look out for the letter and help in anyway you can. Also, if you are able to help on the day (Saturday 11th March, 8am – 4pm) please let the school office know, even if this would be just for an hour or so.

Your support and time given to our events is hugely appreciated. It helps us to raise extra funds for the school, which contributes to our children having the best school experiences they can.Friends of Naburn CE Primary School

Friends Of Naburn Meeting, 12-1-23

The Friends of Naburn are holding their first meeting of 2023 to discuss ideas and plan events for the coming term.

We would love for you to come along and be involved. You don’t have to commit to anything at all (but if you did that would be fantastic). We would just appreciate the engagement from you about what you think the children will enjoy and ways to get involved further in the community, as well as raise loads of cash too. The meeting will be held in the school hall on Thursday 12 January at 6pm.

Please do come along….there’ll be nibbles!Friends Of Naburn

In the meantime, we’re looking for a festive design for the label and who better to create one than the children themselves. We will be sending everyone home with a template label. If your child would like the chance of having their festive creation adorn our puds then please can they use the template and make sure they are returned to school on Monday. We have a VIP ready and waiting to judge the designs and pick a winner.

Christmas Treat funded by the PTA

We are so excited and very grateful to the PTA for giving the school the funds to book the Riding Lights Theatre Companies Christmas Production of ‘Nearly the Goat’. This will take place at the Village Hall.

Want to get involved?

Wow! What a team of tidy-uppers!

You would have seen brilliant Naburn spirit and teamwork at the school last Saturday morning from all the people who came along to help tidy the playground, paint the railings and put up a new shed for the playground equipment.

We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came and took part in our big ‘Tidy Day’ – the whole place looks amazing! The children and staff all really appreciate the hard work from our lovely community to improve our environment for playing and learning. THANK YOU!
