Please use the links under ‘About Us’ to discover a wealth of information about this very special village school.
Naburn School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England school. It dates back to 1872, and many improvements have been made since then, including the addition of an attractive extension and a mezzanine floor in the roof space to provide an extra classroom.
The fact that we still use the original Victorian building helps us to retain the atmosphere of a village school. We have children aged 4 to 11 years, from Reception to Year 6. Different ages often work together, with extra challenges or support to provide differentiation, which has the advantage of allowing children to work at a level appropriate to their needs.
We are proud of our standards in standards of literacy and numeracy, but we also provide an enriched environment by involving the children in a wide variety of activities. We are also very keen that the children should be able to express themselves and consequently place great emphasis on creative and imaginative writing and on drama and art activities.
