This has been our first week of our new topic ‘To the rescue’. To kick start our topic we have had visitors!
On Monday we were joined by Joanie. Joanie is training to be a hearing dog for the deaf. Her trainers June and David told us all about how Joanie, and lots of dogs like her, all around the country, provide assistance to people with hearing difficulties. Joanie was so well behaved and loved having treats from the children.
For more information on the brilliant work that Hearing Dogs do and to find out how to sponsor a hearing dog please click here.
June sent us some pictures of Joanie enjoying the sunshine:
On Thursday had some very special visitors…the POLICE!
PC Elliot and her colleague came into to tell us about our their roles and responsibilities of being a police officer.
We especially enjoyed being shown the police van – seeing the flashing lights and hearing the siren!
